Being the first festival of this kind, we aimed to do something different. We recognize that many film festivals which originally claimed to be for the independent filmmaker have, over the years, become more mainstream through Hollywood influenced films, budgeting and celebrities.  And with the understanding that film festivals only select a few films to be screened and knowing that many talented & aspiring directors will never secure the funds to make a full-length feature film but have made several short films or have had their feature & short films rejected, we have designed this festival for anyone with some level of completed work(s) to make a Director’s Reel and show the best example(s) of their work. 

Being a level playing field for all directors, this festival acts as a venue/platform for Industry Professionals, as well as the general public, to see your abilities as a Director/Artist.    Film students will be enrolled in a separate judging capacity and are encouraged to submit examples of their work as well. 

Naturally, like any festival, we also have a contest.  The top 31 Directors will receive a 2nd screening at the end of the festival.  In addition, their reels will be loaded onto this site, at no cost, at the end of the festival.  They will remain on this site for 9 months, which can be reviewed by Industry Professionals and the general public, from across the globe, at any time.
